Freight lanes
Our freight lanes primarily cover Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Texas, and the Midwest. We also have dedicated lanes within our network in Georgia and Florida.

Compensation package and home time
Drivers at Davis Transfer can earn $0.42-$0.45 per mile, depending on the number of years with the company. Accessorial pay includes $15-$25 stop off pay, $125 minimum layover pay, $125 minimum breakdown pay, and detention pay which is paid at $15 per hour after three hours with a maximum of $125. We also offer our Davis Transfer drivers paid orientation, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, $1,500 referral bonus, $100 clean DOT inspection bonus, and a ‘Long Hauler’ bonus that pays drivers an additional $0.01 per mile after 9,500 miles.

Our drivers average 2,350-2,600 miles per week and stay out at least five days each week including one entire weekend. You’ll also have the option to stay out for periods longer than 7-10 days, but that is completely up to you.

Independent contractors
Owner operators working with Davis Transfer receive 70% of line haul and 100% of daily fuel surcharges. We also help owner operators build a $2,500 escrow account with weekly $75 deductions plus we offer a $1,700 sign on bonus, fuel discounts at Pilot and Love’s, and have no trailer rental fees.

Other details
Davis Transfer freight is 99.9% no touch and 75% drop and hook. We offer our customers touch freight by special request, which includes driver compensation.

One thing our drivers love is our pet policy. Take your furry pal on the road with you to keep you company. The pet deposit is $500 and pets must be under 30 pounds. We also have a rider policy which makes it possible for you to bring along a relative, spouse or significant other. Riders must be 12 or older and there is an $8 per month charge.

Every Davis Transfer driver is assigned a personal driver manager that’s invested in your success. They are available during normal business hours to assist you throughout your day. We also have staff on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help keep you moving.
