Say Hello To The New & Improved Driver Lounge In Laredo, TX!

If you’ve seen bland, uncomfortable drivers’ lounges in your career, you know that they’re not a great place to relax and enjoy a break. USA Truck took that to heart when redecorating and outfitting our new drivers’ lounge in Laredo, Texas

“The design was inspired by our drivers,” says James Reed, CEO of USA Truck. “Each week our drivers and staff received a text message asking for feedback. We heard that our drivers’ lounges weren’t up to USA Truck’s standards so we committed to taking action. This is just part of how we are driving improvements in the employee experience at USA Truck.”

The newly completed lounge in Laredo features USA Truck signature colors (light grey and dark blue) with an emphasis on comfortable furnishings. “Although drivers like recliners best – what I heard from them is that the recliners tend to break easily and frequently. The furniture that was selected was for maximum comfort and support,” he says. “Most importantly, our drivers commented that what they really wanted is a nice clean place that was comfortable and inviting so that they could relax while they wait for repairs or take their breaks.”

Other amenities may seem small but they’re big to drivers. “When evaluating the space, I looked at little things like providing a place to charge their devices and place their phones while relaxing,” Reed says. “We built a mini-library so they can read and relax, gave them a map of all of our locations and posted ‘did you know’-facts about each area where our facilities are located.”
