USA Truck Receives 2021 Extraordinary Employer Support Award For Supporting U.S. Service Members

This year, USA Truck has been awarded the 2021 Extraordinary Employer Support Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)!

The ESGR is a volunteer arm of the Department of Defense that provides educational opportunities and support for reserve service members who are employed at various companies and organizations. Every year, the ESGR recognizes employers who go above and beyond to support their employees who are servicemembers, and USA Truck was honored to receive that recognition this year!

“It touches my heart to think that we have men and women who work at USA Truck who come here and give everything they’ve got, but when their country calls, they leave,” CEO James Reed said. “The military is an important cornerstone to USA Truck and our founding … We are so grateful for those who serve in our military or who have served.”

In addition to the Extraordinary Employer Support Award, two USA Truck managers, Timothy Hicks and Greg Wilson, were given the ESGR “My Boss is a Patriot” award.

Driver and Army National Guard Sergeant Jordan Ray said USA Truck worked with him as he took part in two 28-day courses with the Army this year. And USA Truck surprised Ray with a new truck with a personalized military wrap to celebrate his service.

“Thanks to them I will get promoted to staff sergeant soon,” Ray said. “I have served almost six years in the Army and I am confident that I will continue my career with USA Truck and the Army National Guard thanks to Tim and Greg.”

USA Truck also signed a statement of support, pledging to maintain our reputation as a great employer for those in the National Guard and military reserves.
